/// METHOD
I believe that every individual requires a unique approach to learning an instrument, and with over 25 years' experience working with students of all ages and abilities, I have developed a well-honed and flexible method of bringing the best out of each person and helping them find the right pathway toward fulfilling their musical potential. I take great care in creating a rigorous and structured plan for each student that is also inspiring and fun.

/// FOUNDATIONS
For me it is imperative that every student is laying serious technical and musical foundations. Without these, it is inevitable that we reach a plateau at some point or another, and it is important to imprint these at the earliest possible stages whilst still making lessons inspiring. My aim is to lay foundations that will maximise each student’s potential and be there for life.

/// EXPERIENCE
I have been working with private piano and percussion students for 26 years, and have held teaching positions at the Royal Welsh College of Music, Blackheath Conservatoire of Music, and the London Oratory School. In addition I have led masterclasses at many of the world’s leading music conservatoires and created and led music workshops for several of London’s leading classical ensembles. Although I have had an extensive performing career, music education and teaching has always remained a priority, and I have kept space in my schedule for school concerts, group workshops and one to one lessons throughout this time. /// EXAMS
I have worked extensively within the ABRSM and Trinity College London exam board systems in the UK, and am very comfortable working within the AMEB System here in Australia if you or your child chooses to go down this particular route. For some people it is the ideal pathway, for others less so. We can make this decision once we have worked together for a phase.

/// LESSONS
I offer lessons and coaching in the following disciplines: Piano; Drum Kit; Percussion; Music Theory; Composition and Improvisation; Music Production and Logic Pro; Chamber Music; Creative Artist Development.

/// PRACTICALITIES
Currently based in the Northern Beaches area of Sydney. I am willing to travel as well as hosting lessons at my home. I also see some students online. Please enquire for more information about availability, travel and my rates.
